Trying hard to curtail screen time, especially on Instagram. These days, even Substack is time consuming

lovely read! and your words are so true: We all have struggles. We all have wins. And no one’s life is perfect 100% of the time.

Thank You! I’m just a few months into starting a new business and while I love so many parts of building my business, there are times I think I should just give up or this is a dumb idea. I have been wanting to find other women who have advice about how to keep going, even when it’s hard. I had to turn to social media for marketing and it’s so mentally draining trying to craft the perfect post!

It is so exhausting. That is why i decided to take another route. Not saying i will give up all other platforms forever but for now its been great and i cant see myself going back.

Candle season is slow in the summer so i feel like its the perfect time for me to work on building something new.

Fingers crossed that it actually works!

I enjoyed reading your reflections on your experiences, I agree Instagram seems very crowded now. I can’t follow too many people because it feels crowded. I believe using social media in moderation helps.

I appreciate that you have found a new joy in sharing the highs and lows of all the hats you where.

Wishing you nothing but peace, prosperity and joy! ♥️

I love that you chose to start sharing the messy, real side too. It’s brave and honestly so needed. Those are the stories that remind people they’re not alone in the hard parts. I’ve also found that the most authentic connections come when we stop performing and start showing up as we are imperfect, human, and enough.

Agree, i always felt so alone in my struggles until I started sharing them. I was comforted to find I wasn't the only one!

Thank you for this post! I needed it right now!! I've been feeling a little down as everything I've done hasn't garnered much attention. I am mentally exhausted with social media, so I have decided to focus on meaningful connections with real-life people and folks here on Substack. I look forward to reading more of your work.

I know the feeling, its refreshing to have personal conversations with others and substack seems to be the perfect place for that!

Not sure where I heard this, but someone once said 95% of what we see on social media is fake, and it’s true. It’s a shame, especially for those who are out here sharing the real, raw moments of life, motherhood, work, and everything in between. It gets exhausting when you’re posting just to keep up, instead of sharing something meaningful that actually matters to you.

So true, it's become one big competition and competition isn't always good. When we have to be fake to keep up it isn't worth it!

Very true Nicole - it is sad how people often portray a very distorted version of their real lives in an effort to "keep up", but no one really wins from this approach.
